Reproductive Health Circle

We believe that solidarity is the most powerful tool in the fight against hate.

We focus on building power among grassroots community organizing and non-partisan integrated voter engagement efforts led by under-represented strategic leaders in the field: women of color, low-income women, queer women, and young women of all abilities. These leaders’ lived experience and personal histories are invaluable to crafting solutions, developing innovative strategies, and forging connections in their communities.

They are among the most powerful and effective advocates and movement leaders, and yet they receive a small fraction of the funding dedicated to women’s reproductive freedom.

The Reproductive Health circle partners with the Groundswell Fund to move money to under-represented Reproductive Justice movement builders, and (in our January docket) with the Take Root for Reproductive Justice Red State annual conference to develop grassroots leaders specifically in red states.

We do these things through our own collective grant-making and by organizing as donors to inspire others to give to this important component of the ecosystem we need to achieve reproductive health, rights, and justice for all.

In addition, since abortion access is all but gone in many communities, we believe we need a modern-day “Jane” network. The Center for Reproductive Rights and Justice (CRRJ), led by Jill Adams at the UC Berkeley School of Law, is doing legal work to support putting first-trimester medication abortion into the hands of women without landing them in jail.

CRRJ propels law and policy solutions by connecting people and ideas across the academic-advocate divide. They seek to realize reproductive rights and advance reproductive justice by influencing legal and social science discourse, furthering research and scholarship, and bolstering law and policy advocacy efforts.

Please join us with a generous investment in solidarity and power for reproductive justice by supporting these two critical and strategic initiatives:

  • $100,000 to grassroots reproductive justice groups through a renewal of our support for the Groundswell Fund.

  • $50,000 to the Center for Reproductive Rights and Justice (CRRJ).

At this time of racial upheaval and extreme threats to women’s bodily autonomy, we are prepared to step up, and ask you to step up with us.
